Set of bishop's vestments constisting of sakkos, belt, and sulok. White and silver brocade, coral velvet, gold and silver metallic thread and sequin embroidery, fringe. Sakkos: large section of velvet on front, ends of sleeves, wide band on bottom of back, and yoke on back are embroidered with design of scrolls, foliage with silver sequins, and five-petal flowerheads with centers accented with rhinestones. Gold thread lace running down front center. Gold fringe along bottom. Gold galloon along and brass buttons along side. On back is gold thread and sequin eight-pointed star centered with opal and rhinestones. Inside of sakkos lined with yellow fabric and added pink silk in areas of head opening and sleeves. Belt: Velvet in center area with same embroidered design as sakkos, equilateral gold thread, sequin and rhinestone cross in center. Belt bordered by gold and red galloon. One white silk strap. Lined with yellow fabric. Sulok: Symmetric emboridered and velvet design on bottom surmounded by gold thread and velvet equilateral cross centered with opal and rhinestones. Sulok bordered by gold galloon with grape and wheat motif and fringe. In top portion is white silk box with gold fringe on ends. Lined with yellow fabric.
Purchased by Julien H. Bryan (1899-1974) in 1935 from the Antique Store of Hotel National in Moscow. Used as illustrations by Bryan during lectures on Soviet Russia throughout the United States.

On inside of sakkos is inscription in black ink: 9196T Ант II сорт 14 р. On reverse of belt: 9196T Ант II с 1 р. On reverse of sulok in bottom right: 9159T Ант III сорт 3.
