History Note

Presented to Grand Duke Dimitrii Konstantinovich (1860-1919) by Alexander III on 10 August 1892 in Peterhof. The Gospel was with the Grand Duke while incarcerated before his execution. Prince Teimuraz Bagration-Mukhransky visited the Grand Duke in prison with the wife of Colonel von Leiming, the GD's adjutant, and recalls being blessed with this Gospel. The Gospel was among the items turned over to von Leiming after the Grand Duke's execution.
