Full-length bronze sculpture of Emperor Nicholas I in uniform of Horse Guards and holding sword in left hand. Sculpture was presented by Nicholas I to an officer in recognition of his support during the Decembrist revolt.
Statue was presented by Nicholas I to an officer (possibly named Sokolov) in recognition of his support during the Decembrist revolt. The officer's son's widow gave the statue to Princess Vera Konstantinovna.
Inscriptions & Markings
Signed and dated on base: N. Schrödl fct 1853. On opposite side of base is St. Petersburg foundry mark.
