Carved wooden cross. Four-pointed, with flaring top and bottom arms and short cross-bar arms. Carved relief of eight-pointed cross flanked by spear and sponge, Adam's skull on bottom. Carved inscriptions in Church Slavonic.
Given by a priest to Rostislav Vladimirovich Polchaninoff, who was working for the Pskov Orthodox Mission, shortly before the evacuation of Pskov by he Germans in 1944. The priest told Polchaninoff that the cross was most likely an altar cross from a village church near Pskov. The cross was allegedly kept in a museum in Pskov.
