Description

Silver cigarette case. Rectangular from with rounded sides and corners. On lid is applied gold monogram HПЯ and five autographs: Женя, Люля, Павлик, Митя, Петя (Zhenia, Liulia, Pavlik, Mitia and Petia); shoulder board with 61, three five-pointed stars and two red enamel stripes. Cigarette case was given to Maria Nikolaevna Iotch's (Мария Николаевна Иоч) father, Nikolai Pavlovich Iarchevskii (Николай Павлович Ярчевский) by his family in 1904-1906. The autographs are of Nikolai Pavlovich's family members - Zhenia (wife), Pavel, Dmitrii, Petr (sons) and Lialia (daughter, Maria Nikolaevna). During the Russo-Japanese War, Lieutenant Colonel Iarchevskii formed a battery of the 61st brigade in Ryazan. During Wordl War I he reached the rank of major general, commanded the 65th artillery brigade, mainly on the south-west front. Died in 1918.
