Porcelain figure of a Bashkir man in ethnic clothing: tall red hat with yellow accents, blue coat with silver trim and blue trousers with red stripe. He is holding a sheathed sword in his left hand. On front of base is lettering: БАШКИР ("Bashkir"). Figure is from the "People of Russia" series started by the Gardner factory in 1870s, which was based on color lithographs from a book by Theodore de Pauli titled ‘Description Ethnographique des peuples de la Russie’ published in 1862. This figure was made in the 1920s-1930s using the 1870 model.
