Porcelain figure of a Kalmyk man in ethnic clothing: gray fur hat with angular yellow crown, light blue coat with black trim, high black boots. He is holding a pipe in his left hand. A multicolor pouch and other object hand from his belt. On front of base is lettering: КАЛМЫК("Kalmyk"). Figure is from the "People of Russia" series started by the Gardner factory in 1870s, which was based on color lithographs from a book by Theodore de Pauli titled ‘Description Ethnographique des peuples de la Russie’ published in 1862. This figure was made in the 1920s-1930s using the 1870 model.
