From among items belonging to Nicholas II, his family and attendants found in and around Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg. Given by Grand Duchess Xenia Aleksandrovna (1875-1960) to Archpriest Mikhail Polskii (1891-1960) in 1948. Bequeathed by Archpriest Mikhail Polskii to Holy Trinity Monastery. Arrived at Holy Trinity Monastery in 1962. Earlier catalog descriptions describe the inscription on reverse of icon as saying "Ц. С. Алексѣю 15 iюня 1914 г. Н." ("Tsarskoye Selo, To Alexei, 15 June 1914, N.") After the icon was sent be exhibited at the Marfa-Mariinskaia Convent in 2010, it was determined that the inscription was to Anastasia on June 5th. Below is text from N.A. Sokolov's book and Nicholas II's diary: Из книги Н.А. Catalog of 2012 exhibition at the State Archive of the Russian Federation (GA RF) has the old information, i.e. that the inscription is addressed to Alexei.
