Description

Icon of Great Martyr Barbara flanked by smaller figures of Prince Boris and Apostle Peter on left and Prince Gleb and Apostle Paul on right. Above in clouds is Christ with two angels. Egg tempera on gessoed wood board. Silver gilt chased and repoussed oklad. St. Barbara's robe is filigree, halo surmounted by crown is gold with inset gems. Name of saint and her scroll are enamel with gold lettering in Church Slavonic. Inscription on scroll is beginning of the Creed. Rococo scrollwork border.
