Icon of Vladimir Mother of God with Apostles and Saints

Icon. Egg tempera and gold leaf on gessoed board. In center is Vladimir Mother of God. Along sides are full-length images of twelve apostles, St. Alexander Nevsky wearing monastic garb, and St. Evdokiia. Chased and engraved metal oklad with stamped scrolling foliage design. Apostles and saints are in oval vignettes. Halo of Virgin Mary is ornate openwork, with cherubim flanked by two angels. Inscriptions in Church Slavonic. In carved wooden frame.
Belonged to Archimandrite Flor (Van'ko). Transferred to museum after his death on 4 September 2012. Note on back of icon reads: Donated in memory of John Ivan Zapotocky.
