Description

Pair of major general's shoulder boards. Gold zigzag galloon, two silver thread stars, brass buttons with double eagle. Corners on top of shoulder boards are chamfered. Blue-green piping, scarlet lining. White metal-tipped laces on reverse. From among items belonging to Nicholas II, his family and attendants found in and around Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg. May have belonged to Vasilii Aleksandrovich Dolgorukov or Il’ia Leonidovich Tatishchev, both of whom were major generals in 1918.

Bequeathed by Bishop Nektary (Kontsevich) to Archbishop Kyrill (Dmitrieff) in 1983.
