Description

Seventeenth-century Ochtoechos, Tones 5 through 8, printed in Church Slavonic in black and red. First two printed leaves are missing and are replaced with handwritten text in black and red. Seven handwritten leaves inserted towards end of book. Leather binding with blind tooling; two leather and brass clasps. Page edges are dyed green. Handwritten inscription on top page edges in Church Slavonic: "Октаи 6го гласса (sic)." Printed in Moscow in the 1620s, during the reign of Czar Mikhail Feodorovich (the first tsar of the Romanov dynasty) and Patriarch Philaret (his father).
