Description
Silver gilt paten and asterisk. Paten has circular top, four round bosses with entwined crosses are evenly spaced along rim. Between bosses are engraved vine ornaments and inscription in Slavonic: Прiимите ядите сiе есть Тѣло Moe яже за вы ломимое во оставленiе грѣховъ ("Take, eat, this is my Body which is broken for you for the forgiveness of sins"). Middle section of paten has shape of a fluted column with entwined ornamets on capital and base. Base of paten is triangluar, with foliage ornament and eight-pointed cross engraved on each side. Asterisk is semi-circular in shape. Feet have a pierced intertwined square knot ornament. On top is square and rounded boss with equilateral grooved cross.
History Note
Used during services at Holy Trinity Monastery until 2011, when it was transferred to the Foundation of Russian History Museum.
