Description

Mitre. Gold and silver metalic thread and sequin scrolling embroidery, accented with gems. Oval icons of Christ Pantocrator, Virgin Mary, Saint John the Baptist and the Crucifixion are painted on porcelain and set into metal frames surrounded by white beads. On top is circular icon of God the Father, painted in oil on metal background with engraved emanating rays. Two white bead borders along headband. Belonged to Patriarch Varnava of Serbia (Patriarch from 1930-1937).
