Gold pocket watch. On front lid is applied gold imperial double eagle with enameling and painted image of St. George on central sheild. White watch face with hours in black Roman numerals and seconds in arabic numeral. Small seconds dial on bottom. In top middle is inscription: Павелъ Буре. Given by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna to Mikhail Alekseevich Tsirig or Tsigr, a colonel of the Izmailov Regiment (Лейб-гвардии Измайловский полк) who managed the Hospital of Tsarskoe Selo (Царскосельский Лазарет), as a token of appreciation for his services there.
Given by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna to Mikhail Alekseevich Tsirg (1881-1958), a colonel of the Izmailov Regiment (Лейб-гвардии Измайловский полк). Tsirg was wounded during World War I and sent to Empress Alexandra's hospital in Tsarskoe Selo. Being unable to return to the front because of his health, Tsirg was appointed to an assistant to Empress Alexandra in running the hospital. The watch was presented to him by Empress Alexandra as a token of appreciation for his services.
