Official portrait of Empress Elizabeth engraved by Ivan Alekseevich Sokolov after portrait by Louis Caravaque. Half-length frontal portrait of Elizabeth in cartouche. She is wearing a dress with lace, ermine mantle, sash and order of St. Andrew, and diamond jewelry. On her head is imperial crown and diamond aigrette. Below cartouche is imperial double eagle and scroll with inscription: Елисаветъ I. Императрица и Самодержица | Всероссiйская. | Elisabeth I. Rusorum Imperatrix. Second printing, as evidenced by hatching on cheek and neck (see Rovinskii p. 933).
