Description

Mitre, silver brocade with silver metallic thread and spangles emboidery, diamonds and aquamarines. Painted oil icons of Christ, Virgin Mary, John the Baptist, and crucifixion, each in silver frame with ogee arch top flanked by painted cherubim and with silver halos. On top is carved mother-of-pearl circle. Headband is silver with two chased bands, applique crosses with diamonds, and aquamarines. Mitre allegedly belonged to Metropolitan Antonii (Khrapovitskii) (1863-1936).
