Foundation’s Librarian and Collections Registrar Participates in National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute
New York, NY. June 8-29, 2014
Michael Perekrestov, librarian and collections registrar of the Foundation of Russian History, participated in a three-week National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute for College and University Teachers, which took place at Columbia University. The topic of this year’s institute is “America’s East Central Europeans: Migration and Memory.” Twenty-five Summer Scholars – college teachers, independent scholars, museum curators, librarians and advanced graduate students – came together for this institute to engage in a lively dialogue with each other and specialists on East Central Europe who presented on a variety of topics throughout the institute. While at the institute, Perekrestov conducted research on America’s Eastern Christian repositories of scholarly materials, their collections, the challenges they face, and their future.
