New Book on Church Resistance in the USSR
Pravoslavnoe tserkovnoe soprotivlenie v SSSR: Biograficheskii spravochnik 1927-1988 gg. [Orthodox Church Resistance in the USSR: Biographical guide 1927-1988] is a new reference book containing short biographical entries for “nepominaiushchie” – clergy and laity of the Russian Orthodox Church who refused to commemorate Metropolitan Sergius (Stragorodsky) after he issued his Declaration of 1927. This book, published by ROSSPEN, was co-authored by M.V. Sharkovskii and Dimitry Anashkin, instructor at Holy Trinity Seminary and archivist at the Foundation of Russian History, and contains photographs from the Foundation’s archival collections.
