Two New Online Exhibits Launched on Google Cultural Institute
Jordanville, NY / Moscow, Russia. 15 July 2015
The Foundation of Russian History and Holy Trinity Seminary in collaboration with the Solzhenitsyn Center of Russian Émigré Studies (Moscow) has partnered with the Google Cultural Institute to launch two online exhibitions. The History of the Creation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia and Metropolitan Antony (Khrapovitsky): Archpastor of the Russian Diaspora are based on exhibitions that were shown in Belgrade and Moscow in 2012 and 2014. These online exhibits present rare archival materials from the collections of the Foundation of Russian History, Holy Trinity Seminary, and the Solzhenitsyn Center. The featured documents – photographs, correspondence, telegrams, epistles, newspapers, and books – describe the story of the founding of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad as a result of violent persecution in Bolshevik Russia, the Church's existence during the turbulent 20th century, and its distinguished first hierarch – Metropolitan Antony.
